Scholarships are being awarded to excellent local students in fields such as Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Engineering and Science and Technology. Scholarships are also awarded to excellent students in the Ministry of Education's polytechnics.

Loans :
Loans are being given only to students in local polytechnics. At the moment, the Training Division also sponsors overseas students who face financial problems. However, the loan being given is only to support their tuition fees.

Applicants for scholarships/loans must be:

1. Malaysian citizens;
2. Has been offered a place in a local university, UITM or polytechnic.
3. Not above 26 years for Diploma course.
4. Not above 36 years for First Degree and Advanced Diploma courses.
5. Not above 45 years for Government Officers.

1. passed with distinction in the preparatory program;
2. has been offered a place in any of the top universities listed by JPA; and
3. certified medically fit.

4. Telah disahkan tempat di Universiti / IPT Tempatan yang diiktiraf oleh Kerajaan
5. Mestilah sihat dari segi mental dan fizikal

3. Have taken the Year 2004 GCE 'O' Level/SPM (or equivalent) examinations

5. Examinations (this must include distinctions in Mathematics and a Science subject), with at least a Grade 3 in the GCE 'O' Level English Language
6. Have obtained at least 3 distinctions

2. Qualifications for M.Sc. candidates - Bachelor's Degree with at least a Second Class Upper Honours or CGPA of 3.5 and above in the relevant fields.
3. Qualifications for Ph.D candidates - Master's Degree in relevant fields or Bachelor's Degree with First Class Honours or CGPA of 3.7 and above in the relevant fields.
4. Must not be bonded to or be in receipt of any financial aids or awards from other organizations/institutions at time of application.
5. Upon completion of studies, the scholars must remain in Malaysia to work for the public or private sector for a minimum period of 5 years.
6. The research area proposed must be relevant to the country's needs, for example, biotechnology, composite materials, advanced materials, environmental technology, marine & aquaculture technology, poultry & poultry based products and resource-based products.
7. Shortlisted candidates may be required to give a short presentation of their research proposal.

1. Research grants are open to post-doctoral students or research fellows from any university or related institution within and outside Malaysia.

The research grants are also open to research students (including PhD students) from any of the following fields: Arts, Accountancy, Business, Economics, Communication, Journalism, Education, Humanities, Law, Library Science, Information Technology, Science and Technology, Politics and Social Sciences from any university or related institution within and outside Malaysia, subject to approval from their supervisors. The student and supervisor will be regarded as one research team with the supervisor designated as the head researcher.

1. The Lion-ASM Foundation Scholarship and Educational Loans shall be open to citizens of Malaysia and Singapore who wish to pursue their tertiary education.
2. The Scholarship or Educational Loans shall be tenable only for the academic year in which it is awarded, up to a maximum of five (5) years.
3. The recognized Universities / Institutions include all Universities in Malaysia and Singapore, which are approved by the Ministry of Education and recognized by the Public Services Department (JPA), including S.I.T International College, Klang (3+0 Programmes).
4. The scholarship and Educational Loans shall NOT be held concurrently with any other award.
5. The Scholarship and Educational Loans shall be paid in two (2) installments at the beginning of each semester.
6. The Scholarship holder is required to serve a compulsory service period with the Lion Group of Companies upon graduation [twelve (12) continuous months for each year of the award given].
7. The Educational Loan is an interest free loan and is repayable over a period of four (4) months after the scholar's convocation date and the monthly installments not later than the seventh (7th) of each month of the repayment period. If the Educational Loan holder is offered an employment by any of the Lion Group of Companies, the Educational Loan will be converted into a Scholarship and he/she will be bonded for twelve (12 months) of service for each year the award is given.

1. Applications are invited from suitably qualified Malaysian citizens who have obtained admission into the first year of undergraduate study in local public universities.
